True Blood: Terry Smacks Some Sense Into the V-Addicted Andy

True Blood, Todd Lowe, Chris Bauer After a whole season of dealing with what can only be described as the creepiest baby on Earth, True Blood's Todd Lowe is really looking forward to acting with the adults again - which he gets to do in this Sunday's episode when Terry finally confronts his cousin Andy (Chris Bauer) about his V addiction. Missed an episode of True Blood? Catch up by reading our recaps Yes, between all the witch-on-vampire drama, the werepanther kidnapping and a fantasy threesome, poor Andy has been struggling to get off vampire blood. It will be just as hard for Terry to convince Andy he's a better person without V. "It's emotional and we're going to see some things with Terry and Andy that we really haven't seen before," Lowe tells TVGuide.com. "We get little hints of the Bellefleur past and we're going to learn a lot more about who they were as young boys. [It's] almost like a rivalry, like brothers except they're cousins." Whether Terry will be able to knock some sense into the Bon Temps' sheriff remains to be seen. "That will be Andy's decision, ultimately," Lowe adds. "But Terry is going to spell it out for him." Terry will also be dealing with problems of his own when Patrick (Scott Foley), an old army buddy, arrives in the season finale. "He looked [Terry] up" Lowe explains, "He found him and I guess he has something to say and something to talk about. You don't just wander in and find someone at their workplace unless you have something important to share with him." True Blood enlists Scott Foley for Season 4 Though their encounter in the finale will be brief, Foley is expected to return in a bigger capacity next season. Lowe hopes this means viewers will see flashbacks to Terry's time in the war. "I'd like to maybe trim my beard and see Terry look a little younger," he says. "I'd like to see where his post-traumatic stress disorder actually came from. Was it a series of events? Was it a friend or life that was lost in front of him? Was it someone's life that he took? I'd like to see where that goes and see why Terry is so screwed up." "I have a feeling it's going to go kind of dark," he adds. "I got a hint from [executive producer] Alan Ball that we're going to see a little darker side to Terry." They'll be plenty of dark as the HBO series heads into the season finale, which takes place during Halloween - a holiday you'd expect to inspire even more craziness given all the supernaturals running around. "Wouldn't you think it'd be just a little bit anticlimactic with all this other stuff going on?" Lowe counters. "But I guess the people of Bon Temps find a way to celebrate the Halloween holiday." The Talk Adds Kris Jenner As Host (As Though Kardashians Arent Already Over-Uncovered) & Conservative Comic Sheryl Underwood

EXCLUSIVE… UPDATE: What is CBS thinking? The network will announce shortly that Kris Jenner, the unbearable manager mother of individuals incredibly annoying Kardashian siblings, may be the new fill-in host about the Talk. (Don’t these folks find the money for not doing anything already? I guess Jenner a minimum of can discuss her plastic surgical procedures…) Also beingadded is Sheryl Underwood, theAfrican-American stand-up comedienne was previously a regularly syndicatedradio personality about the national Tom Joyner Morning Show and also on the Jamie Foxx funnel for Sirius XM satellite radio. She's now aweekly contributor on radio’s Steve Harvey Morning Show.A formermember from the U.S. Military,Underwood loves to call herself”a sexually progressive God-fearing black Republican”. (Black GOP-er? CBS went searching for a needle inside a haystack…) For Sharon Osbourne, she wanted from the daytime gabfest but will return for six non-consecutive days. Sara Gilbert, who’s one among the designers from the show, and L'ensemble des Moonves’ wife Julie Chen continue to be aboard while watching camera. But as Deadline’s Nellie Andreeva formerly scooped, choices for Leah Remini and Carol Robinson Peete weren’t restored. It’s been not a secret that tensions between the majority of the women, particularly with the overbearing “Chenbot”, acquired throughout the very first season. Seems like the backroom battles were much more interesting than anything on air: the jealousies, the bickering, themicromanaging. All I understand is I wouldn’t want that famous-for-being-famous Jenner momager, who’s already a fixture on E! Entertainment because of Ryan Seacrest, anywhere near a network camera. Ugh!

'X Factor': Behind-the-Moments of THRs Cover Photoshoot (Video)

Although people understand what the "X factor" is, The Hollywood Reporter requested the show's leading males and ladies to define the word. "You cannot define it by saying it's one factor or any other. You will find a lot of things. Usually when it is only one factor, that isn't the X factor," stated Reid. PHOTOS: An 'American Idol' to 'X Factor' Timeline "When somebody has got the X Factor, even if you can't stand them, deep-down within the pit of the stomach, you realize you prefer them," stated Johnson. Within the video, Abdul and Cowell continue their signature back-and-forth they cultivated on Idol. "Whether it does well, it's my show. Whether it tanks it's Paula's. This is the deal," joked Cowell. STORY: 'X Factor's' Simon Cowell Jams Simon Larger, Confesses Anger at 'Idol,' Discloses He and Cheryl Cole No More Speaking Nonetheless they do agree that things may need to look right. "I'm enthusiastic about the way in which things look. I am practically insane if this involves that stuff," stated Cowell. "To be sure, I am exactly the same way,Inch stated Abdul. 'War Horse' heads for $1 mil mark

"War Horse" When will "War Horse" hit $1 million? That's the biggest question in a week at the Broadway box office that didn't give legiters a whole lot to chatter about. Lincoln Center Theater's hit play "War Horse," which is posting stellar sales without the aid of a star-driven marquee, was one of only a few productions on the boards not to see sales slip last week. "War Horse" inched up to $995,750, the highest tally yet reported by a show that's been hovering just below the $1 million mark for several weeks. Houses were packed and average price paid per ticket -- one indicator of audience demand -- came in at an impressive $116.50. Meanwhile, another play that bowed in the spring, "Jerusalem," posted the biggest gain of the week, jumping a whopping $125,000 (or 37%) to $465,280. Procrastinators fueled that spike, with the hefty bump of last-minute biz coming in just prior to the show's Sunday closing. Latest addition "Follies" ($759,958) upticked a bit, although not enough to give a sense yet of whether the revival is starting to pick up some B.O. momentum. Also on the rise was "Priscilla Queen of the Desert" ($686,806) -- although a 61% average attendance could use a lift -- as well as "Baby It's You" ($363,200), the Shirelles musical perhaps attracting a little more biz before its Sept. 4 shuttering. Otherwise, almost every individual production on the Rialto posted a decline in a continuation of the late-summer slowdown that often occurs in August. Heck, even ultra-hot Tony winner "The Book of Mormon" ($1,274,244) slipped a bit, although just barely. "Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark" ($1,567,344) dropped more than $150,000, which might prove a worrisome indicator of the tuner's post-Labor Day prospects, given the much-publicized high running costs of the show. Family-auds magnet "Mary Poppins" ($925,661) fell by $125,000. Overall sales came in at $20.1 million for 24 shows on the boards, down from $20.9 million the prior frame. Attendance came in at 82%, with average price paid per ticket hitting a robust $92.25. Contact Gordon Cox at gordon.cox@variety.com

Judge: HFPA case to trial

A federal judge ruled that the Hollywood Foreign Press Assn.'s case against Dick Clark Prods. should go to trial, deciding that there were "numerous genuine disputes of material fact" over the rights to the Golden Globes.U.S. District Judge Valerie Baker Fairbank's ruling, issued on Tuesday, was not a complete surprise given the competing interpretations of a 1993 amendment to an earlier agreement that appeared to give DCP perpetual rights to produce the telecast as long as they could land a broadcast deal with NBC.The HFPA sued DCP in November, claiming that it did not have the right to forge a new long term pact with NBC last October without its consent. The agreement was to start next year and run through 2018.The trial is scheduled to start on Aug. 30.The case is expected to center on whether the parties in 1993 "validly entered into a contract term for unlimited, unilateral extensions," as Fairbank wrote in her opinion.A trial will undoubtedly highlight past friction between HFPA and its longtime producer, but it also stands to bring to the fore past disputes between the press org's members. The HFPA claims its then-President, Mirjana Van Blaricom, did not have the authority to sign an agreement with such a clause. They claim that a rep for DCP back then, Frances La Maina, represented to the members at a 1993 meeting that the contract had a finite number of options. Van Blaricom, who started her own rival press association in the mid-1990s, has said that she had authority to sign the agreement. But Fairbank also noted that the parties "genuinely dispute" whether the HFPA followed its bylaws in executing contracts.Fairbank also wrote that the interpretation of the contract will require "assessing the credibility of numerous pieces of conflicting evidence," including whether Van Blaricom and La Maina discussed the disputed provision and "the parties' intent in advance of executing the contract."Also up for consideration is what DCP's exercise of options in 2001 said about the interpretation of the 1993 contract. But there's also question as to whether the HFPA's board and membership approved the2001 NBC deal. Contact Ted Johnson at ted.johnson@variety.com
